Soroti, Uganda

Uganda is an incredible place filed with incredible people.  The people of Uganda have suffered terribly over the years, at the hands of the L.R.A. and cattle rustlers whose ferocity and lack of regard for human life left families grieving and destitute.  But amidst the pain and poverty is hope.  Jesus is alive in Uganda and you can see it in peoples’ faces.  Pastors are committed to reaching out to their communities, and people are quick to share their love for their Savior.

The old adage “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care” was lived out through our team.  Through our partnership with Open Arms International, medical clinics were held in refugee camps.  We drilled two deep bore wells so that villages from all around could have clean drinking water.  We provided over 400 hoes (along with seeds) to a village so that they could provide for their families.  We gave 70 bikes to pastors who had no way of visiting and reaching out to people on the outskirts of their communities and beyond.  We provided blankets and soap to 460 prisoners at the Soroti Prison.  And through it all, we shared the hope of Heaven and the promise of forgiveness with thousands ... and many responded.

The churches there are now following up with those who indicated that they had made a decision to follow Jesus Christ.  Thank you for your prayers and for your support.  This was truly a team effort.  Glory to God!!
